How the Body’s Immune and Endocrine System Respond to Influenza
- Influenza affects the cells lining your lungs, nose and throat. The immune system and body reacts by developing antibodies. When antibodies are released they keep the virus from attaching to the healthy cells in the body. The endocrine system is responsible for teaching the body to react. The endocrine system is a collection of glands that creates a large variety of chemicals called hormones. The glands release the hormones straight into the bloodstream to the organ and tissues of the body to regulate and keep a healthy metabolism when the body is taking on stress or a virus.
